On Tuesday evening May 31, 2022 at approximately 9:25pm, Crescent Township Fire Department along with Moon Township, Hopewell, Sewickley and Ambridge fire departments were dispatched to a report of smoke coming from the Iron City Express building on Main Street. First arriving units reported black smoke pushing from the structure. Forcible entry was made, where crews encountered heavy fire conditions within. Early on in the incident, there were numerous explosions from within the structure. Additional fire companies were dispatched to assist with manpower as well as tankers. Special thanks to the following fire departments that assisted either at the scene or with transfer station/area coverage; Moon, Sewickley, Hopewell, Ambridge, Moon Run, Bellevue, Stowe, Seville, Avalon, Aleppo, Groveton, Coraopolis, Neville, Imperial, Leetsdale, Airport Authority from Pittsburgh International, Kennedy, Ohio Township, Bell Acres, Harmony Twp (Beaver County), Hookstown, Hanover, Raccoon, Independence and Conway. Special thanks to Valley Ambulance, Robinson EMS, Conway Fire and Salvation Army for setting up rehab areas and providing food and beverages to everyone on scene.
